National Wrestling Rankings 2019

Wrestling Nomad USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum have published its fifth and final National Girls High School rankings for the 2018-19 season. This ranking evaluates all girls enrolled in grades 9-12, and include athletes from all 50 states. There are 14 states which sponsor official or emerging girls state high school championships, while many other states are also developing their girls high school program. The ranking list will indicate what the athlete’s previous ranking was on May 8, 2019. This ranking is heavily influenced by the results of major national and regional spring competitions. The most recent major events included in these rankings were the USA Wrestling Women’s National Championships in Irving, Texas in May and the USA Wrestling Women’s National Duals in Tulsa, Okla. As the final ranking of the 2018-19 season, it is being published prior to the USMC Junior and Cadet Nationals in Fargo, N. , July 12-19, as well as the UWW Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, July 29 – August 4 and the UWW Junior World Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, August 12-18. 1 athletes in this ranking including Peyton Prussin of Nevada (117), Vayle Baker of Pennsylvania (122), Xochitl Mota-Pettis of Texas (127), Kylie Welker of Wisconsin (132), Alara Boyd of Indiana (138), Amit Elor of California (152) and Olivia Brown of Oklahoma (200). Kennedy Blades of Illinois is the new No. 1 at 164 pounds, after holding the No. 1 spot at 152 pounds in the May ranking. 1 ranked wrestlers in June, four are freshmen: Welker, Elor and Kennedy, plus Sterling Dias of Nevada (100). The next ranking is expected in the fall of 2019, and will be the first ranking of the 2019-2020 season. The staffs from these three leading wrestling organizations are working together to strategically publish this ranking throughout the year. The girls high school ranking will appear on the websites of all three organizations, and be promoted through each of their different media platforms. Coaches, parents and athletes are encouraged to provide information about specific athletes and their achievements throughout the year for the committee to consider.
